Students read pages 22 and 23 in the butterfly(environmental book) on the overpopulation of white tail deer. Students then worked together and needed to decide if and how they would address this issue.

Interaction between living things
Students handed in their graphs and questions from the spoonbird and forkbird activity.
We took some notes on chapter one section two in the environmental science (butterfly) book
Students then read 1:3 pages 24-31 and answered questions 1abc,2ab and 3ab in their spirals. This is homework if they are not finished.

Spoonbirds and Forkbirds
Students did an activity modeling the processes that may cause one species to survive and another to go extinct. This activity is also designed to understand one of the causes of species population numbers to rise and fall. Tomorrow students will finish this activity.

Migration paragraphs
On Friday and today students watched the video titled "Earth Navigators". There are 4 animals highlighted in this video the wildebeest, whooper swan, monarch butterfly and sockeye salmon students. Students hould have taken notes.
For homework students need to write 4 paragraphs (one for each animal) and explain why each animal migrates the way it does and dangers that it may face.

Bird Reading
Students were allowed extra time to complete last nights worksheet. We then corrected these sheets and hung up most of the build a birds!

Bird reading
Students presented their awesome birds today. Fantastic imagination! Students then read about birds in the animal book. Students read pages 118-135. Students must finish the worksheet for homework.
