Safety symbols
Students took notes in their spiral on safety. We discussed appropriate attire and behavior while doing a lab. We also talked about the eyewash station, fire blanket and the fire extinguisher.
I gave students a round piece of paper. On this they need to draw a picture of a safety symbol or issue. The picture needs to be neat and in color. This is due tomorrow.

Scientist types
Spirals and signed sheets were due yesterday! Science spirals, for science ONLY, need to be brought to class every day!
Yesterday we set up the spirals with a Table of Contents and page numbers. The first entry is "About Scientists"
Students had to answer several questions such as behaviors scientists have ie observing, creating, careers that a scientist could have and then name scientists. These will be discussed in class today.
For homework tonight students need to finish the matching sheet of scientists and what they study.

What does a scientist look like?
Today students worked in groups to draw their version of what a scientist looks like.
For extra credit students may draw their own personalized version of what a scientist looks like. This drawing may be done on a piece of blank paper and it MUST be in color. This assignment is due Monday along with permission slip to post pictures on this blog.
