Christmas and Atomic Models

Classes were very short today.

I gave my students the Atomic Model Guidelines. If students need something to do over the break this is a perfect activity. It is not due until Wednesday January 9th.
Please please DO NOT spend money. Find items in your junk drawer etc.

We enjoyed a Christmas concert in the morning.
In the afternoon we had a Blitz Day - so students who havd all their work turned in could go to do a fun activity. Students missing work were assigned to go to a work room.

Chapter 3 packet

Students worked on a packet of 3 pages for atoms, elements and mixtures vs compounds.
Students need a Bai bottle and some glitter for Wednesday when we make our "Calming bottles"

Quiz

Students corrected Atomic Basics worksheet from yesterday and turned it in.
Students then took the quiz.
We will make calming bottles next Wed. Students need a plastic Bai drink bottle . Students also need to bring a small container of glitter.

Students finished Chap 3 section 1 on the history of the atom.

Students began reading Chapter 3

Students read about the history of the atom, the people, their contributions to atomic structure.
Students wrote down the major contributions made by each.
