Today was Day 3.
Students had to have types of reactions worksheet completed to participate.

Day 2 lab- Chemical Reactions

The 2nd day of chemical reactions. If students didn't have thier Types of Chemical Reaction sheet finished then they are not able to participate.

Day 1 -Lab Chemical Reactions

Students will be conducting experiments putting all their knowledge together from the last few weeks.
Students could not participate today if they were missing the Chemical Reaction Sheet from yesterday.

Types of Chemical Reactions

Students watched a video on types of chemical reactions and then worked on a sheet.
If this sheet is not finished then it is homework.

Naming Quiz

Students took a quiz today.
As always students may retake as long as THE STUDENT makes arrangements with me!

Naming review

Students reviewed naming and writing formulas for covalent and ionic compounds including those with transition elements.
There will be a quiz tomorrow on this and balancing equations

Slime

Students that had their work completed were able to participate in creating Slime. Students made 1 of 5 types of slime and all students left with a sample of one type or another.
There is no homework.

Polyatomic bonding

Students worked with poly atomic ions and bonded with other elements to make compounds.
There is no homework

Naming Compounds

Students completed a worksheet on naming covalent compounds. They then received a sheet to name ionic compounds - this is homework if it wasn't finished during class!

Transition naming

Students reviewed covalent and ionic naming rules.
Students then took notes and practiced a couple naming for transition elements.
There is no homework

Marshmallow Challenge

Students worked together and tried to build the tallest tower, out of spaghetti, that would support a marshmallow on top. Kindergartners build a 30" tower - that was the height to beat!

Nomenclature

Students took notes on ionic nomenclature and then practiced in class.
There is no homework.

Balancing Equations

Students finished a sheet on balancing equations and received another sheet to practice. This 2nd sheet is homework if it wasn't finished in class!

Students finished their Periodic Table Diagrams in their Booklets.
If students have not finished they need to finish for Homework as it will be graded tomorrow.
Students got their quizzes back today and IF they want to retake THEN the STUDENT needs to come and schedule a time with . Students have through next Wednesday to retake!
