Observation day

Students observed
1. Plants
2. butterfly larvae
3. celery
4. seeds
I will be gone next week to DC with the 8th graders so will not be posting.
But...students WILL have homework on Tuesday night. They MUST complete their worksheet packet using pages 114-119 in the plant books. This will be corrected in class on Wednesday.

Butterfly larvae

Students set up their butterfly larvae cups today.
Over the next several weeks we will be making daily observations about our "Fast Plants" and our butterflies

"Fast Plants"

Students planted "Fast Plants" today in class. these plants will go through their entire lifecycle in 35 days!
Student also received a progress report from me. All students know what they are missing in my class.

Earth Day

Students discussed ways that they could make a difference starting today.
1. Recycle
2. Buy reusable water bottles instead of buying bottled water
3.  Bring bags with them when shopping.
4.  Walk or ride a bike instead of getting rides from parents. Carpool!

Yesterday students read in their books pages 136-145. Students received a packet and began work on it.
Students continued work on their packets today.
Students also looked a the eagle web cam which is listed under Learning Links.

We continued to discuss some of the water testing that is done to monitor the health of rivers, stream, and lakes.

Students were then introduced to a few of the tests that we will be conducting on Tuesday during the field trip.

Review questions

Students were given a13 review questions to answer. these questions all pertain to chapter 2 in the Environmental Science Book.
There will be a quiz on this tomorrow.
