Observation day

Students observed

I will be gone next week to DC with the 8th graders so will not be posting.
But...students WILL have homework on Tuesday night. They MUST complete their worksheet packet using pages 114-119 in the plant books. This will be corrected in class on Wednesday.

Butterfly larvae

Students set up their butterfly larvae cups today.
Over the next several weeks we will be making daily observations about our "Fast Plants" and our butterflies

"Fast Plants"

Students planted "Fast Plants" today in class. these plants will go through their entire lifecycle in 35 days!
Student also received a progress report from me. All students know what they are missing in my class.

Earth Day

Students discussed ways that they could make a difference starting today.
1. Recycle
2. Buy reusable water bottles instead of buying bottled water
3.  Bring bags with them when shopping.
4.  Walk or ride a bike instead of getting rides from parents. Carpool!

Seed Plants

Students corrected theri worksheets on seed plants.
Students also handed in their questions from page 111.

Seed Plants

Students worked on finishing their worksheet packet on seed plants AND the assignment from Friday.
If these were not finished in class, then it is now homework!!

Characterisitcs of Seed Plants

Yesterday students read in their books pages 136-145. Students received a packet and began work on it.
Students continued work on their packets today.
Students also looked a the eagle web cam which is listed under Learning Links.
There is no homework

Plant questions

Students finished their notes on plants and then used their spirals to answer the following questions on page 111.
1a, 2a, 2b, 3a, 3b, 3c, 4a, and writing in science
All answers need to be in complete sentences

Plants

Students read pages 104-108 and took notes on vascular vs. non-vascular plants.
There is no homework.

Field Trip De-breif

We discussed the pros and cons of yesterday.
Students then wrote thank you notes to the Audubon Staff

Water Tests

We continued to discuss some of the water testing that is done to monitor the health of rivers, stream, and lakes.
Reminder: 7 Silver goes on their field trip on Tuesday April 8th to the Audubon Center

Students corrected their quiz.
Students were then introduced to a few of the tests that we will be conducting on Tuesday during the field trip.
Unfortunately, they would've gotten hands on experience with the fish tank this week before the trip....

Students corrected and reviewed their study questions.
Students then took the quiz.
There is no homework.

Review questions

Students were given a13 review questions to answer. these questions all pertain to chapter 2 in the Environmental Science Book.
There will be a quiz on this tomorrow.
