Today was a mix of discussing garbage in the ocean gryres, the nitrogen cycle and continental drift.

We continued with cycles of matter more specifically the nitrogen cycle.

We had a guest speaker that discussed Off Road Vehicle Ethics and Safety.

Water and the carbon/oxygen cycles were discussed.
Students took notes on these.

Biome importance videos

We watched two short videos. One was on the global importance of the rainforest and the other was on the impact of the "great garbage dump" in the Pacific Ocean. We discussed ways to decrease our use of plastic and the importance of purchasing sustainable products.

On another note - I got to school today and ALL the trout were dead. There must have been a power outage at school and the water system shut down. Trout are extremely sensitive to their surroundings and becasue the system was off the water was not being resupplied with oxygen. So...they suffocated. Very sad.

Finished Biome Presentations today.
Discussed the Malaysian jet disappearance and possible theories. Also talked about how the method to find it is very similar to using the Scientific Method.

Students continued with their biome research today using the internet lab.
We will not have access to computers on Wednesday and Thursday. Students should be close if not finished with their research.

Students researched their Biomes using computers.
We will not have computers again until Friday but will have books the rest of the week for research

Students received their tests that they took earlier this week. If Students got 18 points or less then they can correct their answers to increase their grade. This is due Monday

Many students were gone today on the Band Trip.
Students in class watched a movie on Yellowstone.
